State Assistance facilitates location of manufacturer in Saline County
For the second time in the past month, a state loan will facilitate the location of another manufacturing company in Sweet Springs, in southwestern Saline County. The mattress manufacturer will invest more than $2 million to move its operations from Burlington, Iowa and create 61 new jobs.
The Missouri Department of Economic Development has approved a request from Saline County on behalf of Eastman House, Inc. for a $350,000 Action Fund Loan. The loan is made through the Community Development Block Grant program and will be used for working capital.
“We are pleased that Eastman House has decided to do business in Missouri,” said DED Director Joseph L. Driskill. “The state worked in partnership with local and company officials to bring this new manufacturer and dozens of new good paying jobs into Saline County. We are committed to help Eastman House grow and prosper in Missouri.”
Eastman House is a manufacturer of handcrafted quality mattresses. The company currently manufactures products such as “The Renaissance Latex Foam Collection,” “Encased Innerspring Collection” and the “Chiropractor’s Care” mattress lines.
