Sleep Outfitters chain buys out Mattress Barn
Sleep Outfitters of Kentucky, LLC, a regional chain of retail, bedding showrooms has finalized the purchase of the Kentucky based chain of Mattress Barn showrooms. The transition of management and ownership has already occurred and currently the Mattress Barn showrooms are being renovated to make them consistent with the Sleep Outfitters showroom format. With the acquisition, Sleep Outfitters will operate six retail, bedding showrooms in the greater Lexington area.
Kim Knopf, manager for Sleep Outfitters stated, We are very excited to have this wonderful opportunity for expansion in the area. I am from Louisville and I am excited to bring our formula for success and customer satisfaction back to Kentucky. Knopf is also the president of a chain of bedding showrooms, which operates seventeen locations in a three state territory. We have over twenty years of experience in the bedding business and have helped tens of thousands of customers purchase top quality bedding at the guaranteed lowest price. The acquisition will make Sleep Outfitters the largest chain of bedding showrooms in the Lexington area.
Most current Mattress Barn locations will be changed to reflect the Sleep Outfitters showroom format. The new Sleep Outfitters showrooms will feature mattress sets from many nationally known vendors, including Sealy, Simmons, Serta, Stearns & Foster and locally distributed TempurPedic. In addition the showrooms will feature and display brass and iron headboards, futons, daybeds, electric adjustable beds and kids beds. Each showroom varies in size and dimensions, but will feature a similar color scheme and design. We work with a nationally known designer to ensure our showrooms are spacious and comfortable for our customers, added Knopf. We want our shoppers to be able to see and try out our products before they purchase them for their home. A comfortable and relaxing shopping experience is an important element in pleasing our customers. The showrooms display upwards of fifty models of mattress sets in every size and comfort level for customers to try out.
Prior to the acquisition, Sleep Outfitters operated three retail showrooms in the region in Lexington, on New Circle Road and at the Beaumont Center and one in Morehead. With the Mattress Barn acquisition the company will have added four new locations in Woodhill, Nicholasville, Richmond, Danville. The Mattress Barn clearance center on New Circle Road has been permanently closed. We already had a huge clearance center and warehouse distribution facility in operation on New Circle Road, only a half mile from the Mattress Barn location, Knopf added. ÒWe closed the Mattress Barn location because of the success of the Sleep Outfitters clearance center on New Circle.
